A Concert of Thunderstorms
I came home from work this evening and got lucky and trimmed and footed five new pieces before this evenings storm rolled in. I wish sometimes that you Californian's could be here to hear these storms. Imagine that you are sitting in the center of a ring of Timpani Drums. The largest deepest drum at twelve o'clock starts a large loud rolling drum roll. The smaller drums to the right pick up the drum roll but they are gradually becoming softer in sound, fading somewhat - then a giant bowl of rice kriskies shakes and rattles around the circle and at 6 o'clock there is a giant KABOOM! The sound of the shock wave rides the circle back around to ten o'clock and exactly at 10 there is a sharp CRACK of thunder accompanied by the entire sky lighting up with a sheet of lightening. Soft gentle rumblings start to build after the lightening and the drums concert continues around the circle, again and again. I sat outside and enjoyed the concert for almost 1/2 an hour then the lightening became a little too intense and I had to go in. Mother Nature is so very very talented!
